MORE than 500 alumni and distinguished guests from throughout South East Asia travelled to the province of Sarawak in East Malaysia to support last month's launch of the Alumni Association's fifth international chapter-the Sarawak Alumni of the University of Adelaide (SAUA).

The occasion was as much a celebration as it was an opportunity for guests to learn about the latest developments at the University and how alumni and friends of the University can play a role in its future. With the Chief Minister of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, leading the Chapter into its first year as inaugural President, the coming months are sure to bring much activity and a strengthening of bonds with the University of Adelaide.
