Aussie trade mission due in KL this week |

MELBOURNE - Australia's Trade minister, Mark Vaille will lead a five-day trade mission to Malaysia, starting on Friday. It will coincide with the seventh Malaysia-Australian Joint Business conference which will be attended by Malaysian International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz. The Australia Malaysia Business Council and Austrade will also stage a "Partnership in Food" conference and exhibition which demonstrate that Australia is a suitable partner for the Eight Malaysian Plan's aspiration to make Malaysia a value adding centre of processed food, with a focus on exports of halal food to the Islamic countries. The state of South Australia (SA) will have the biggest contingent at the, conference with 12 companies attending. SA director of trade promotions, Teoh Yoke Cheng said SA would be showcasing, its fresh produce of high grade meat including grass-fed and grain-fed branded beef products, lamb, mutton and goat. "We will also be showing quality fruits and vegetables, exotic fin fish such as Yellowtail kingfish, Mulloway, abalone and lobsters, harvested from our pristine and unpolluted waters of our State's; 3,700km coastline," she said. On Tuesday, SA will host a gala reception and dinner at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur where Malaysians will experience SA's tine food and wine. - Bernama |
