KUCHING - Two students from Australia are now in Sarawak for their tertiary education on a Reverse Colombo Plan (RCP) Programme.
Initiated by the Malaysian-Australian Foundation, the programme offers students scholarships to study in Malaysia.
Holly Nation, 21 and Andrew Maguire, 19 both from Melbourne will be here for one semester.
They will be studying at the Swinburne Institute of Technology here.
Holly is taking up Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration and Social Science while Andrew is going for a BA in Business Administration .
"We will be here for six months," said Holly , adding that their trip to Malaysia was a chance of a lifetime.
" We apply for this trip to Sarawak and are lucky to be the first two to be chosen," she said, adding that they were eager to experience the different lifestyles of the multi-racial communities in the State.
"Yes, I am looking forward to make use of your State Library which I have heard so much about and to taste the delicious local food," said Andrew who also enjoys playing badminton and football.
"Malaysia is famous for these two games and I am definitely taking the opportunity to pick up some tips from the local players," he added.
